He he he, what a great weekend!
8 Jul
I have just literally flown in through the flat door after one night in Milan. Oh yes, I know this sounds a bit nuts, but it had to be done
… let’s start from the beginning though.
Last Friday we met at the Audley Pub in Mayfair to celebrate Wolfi’s leaving Party in style. After almost 6 years in London he decided to explore new horizons and will very soon be moving to sunny Curacao. It will be really weird so see him go, as we spent a lot of time together since we both arrived here all those years ago and there are quite a few stories to tell. All the best darling I am sure it will work out fine. In the meantime we will be here cheering for you and your new adventure. I didn’t stay too long, as I was planning a very special trip the next morning…. I know Wolfi wouldn’t be mad, I will still see him before the plane will finally leave.
And here it is, Saturday morning and I am on my way to Gatwick Airport to catch a last minute Easyjet flight to Milan. I had this idea in my head for quite some time, but as these things go they are not always simple to realise… on Tuesday, 3rd July was my best friend Benedetta’s birthday and the plan was to show up in Milan unannounced and surprise her. After various enquiries with first Ade and then Stefano it appeared there was no chance for me to realise this as madame wanted to so something throughout the week. But my luck turned and about 2 weeks ago Stefano called me to tell me about a dinner he organised for her on Saturday at Trattoria Toscana. Not wasting any time I started looking for a flight immediately and confirmed my presence to him about 10 minutes later!!
To keep appereances up I obviously sent the traditional birthday card with loads of apologies and continued that over the phone…it must have worked… There were a few “almost discoveries” and similar disasters, involving a misterious man with luggage ( “l’uomo dei bagagli”!!!) and strange text messages but Dadina and I were on our way to the restaurant around 9pm last night with very high spirits. I waited outside the restaurant for 5-10 minutes and walked behind her.
The surprise could not have worked out better and there even were a few tears
. Tanti Auguri tesorino mio, Ti voglio bene!!!
What a glorious evening it turned out to be, for the first time in ages the old gang was reunited: Anna from Paris, Fra, Dada, Ade, Bene and me. Like the old times ( which after a short calculation turned out to be quite a few years!!) and nothing really changed since then
This is a fair selection of the best shots from last night, hopefully I will be able to add some more later on. One thing is for sure…I am in desperate need for some sun!!!! Guys, it was great to see you and I do miss you dearly don’t forget that!!!
