Düsseldor – 5th August 2006

13 Aug

GOOD MORNING!!!!

It´s Sunday morning, the sky has been gray most of the time and I´m cuddled up on the couch watching Big Brother (shame on me, I know!!!) and trying to recover from John & Sonias Wedding yesterday. It´s been busy busy busy as per usual, but the summer seems to have disappeared. What´s going on? It´s only August and yet the temperatures have dropped to 20C, I´m NOT liking this!!

Anyways…first things first. I went to Düsseldorf last weekend. Anna, one of our uni mates had the great patience to organise our 5th Gaduation Anniversary and who could make it gathered there on 5th August. Wolfi and myself left London at crazy-o-clock in the morning on Saturday and after Katha picked us up from the airport we had a good old catch up over 2 bottles of Prosecco at 11am in the morning. Just brilliant! Some of the gang met in town during the late afternoon, but Julia and myself joined them in the evening at a Spanish restaurant called “Picasso”. Lots of Tapas, catching up, the weird opera singer, Greta´s pull techniques, wine, beer and general drinks later we headed off to a bar in town.

This is Gitte and her husband. I hope I remember it correctly, but she´s 7 month pregnant with already one little fella at home. (I´ve seen the picture, he´s a cheeky one!!! :-) ) They arrived all the way from Denmark!!!

Here´a further selection taken at the Bar. It was soooooooo hot in there…..hello, ever heard of air conditioning???

It´s been a real fun night. Anna, thank you so much for organising this. I´m sure it wasn´t an easy task :-) A big hug to all attendees: Anna, Greta, Frede, Julia, Chris, Stefan, Tim, Katha, Klaus, Nicolai (arrived from Beligium), Wolfi, Gitte and her husband (I´m sorry I can´t remember your name). Let´s see what we come up for the 10 years!!!

Hi There Its Been Some Time Yes Im Still Alive Its Been Quite A Month And A Halfthe Worldcup With W

24 Jul

Hi there, it´s been some time……

Yes, I´m still alive :-) It´s been quite a month and a half…the Worldcup with way too much beer, the Windsor Pub, the “mitica” World Cup Bible, Italy and Germany meeting in the Semi-final, England loosing just a bit too early and lately Italy winning!! Forza Azzurri!! It´s been fantastic!! Unfortunately there is no photographic proof, but the night of the final Paolo and myself jumped into Trafalgar Square fountain, got completely soaked and screamed with another thousand mad people. Who happened to be there that night knows what I´m talking about! :-)

That´s Cristina and myself after the final game, you have no idea how many people actually squeezed into that pub :-) We´re totally soaked with some sort of fizzy wine or champagne….whatever! It was worth it!!!!!

Then there was obviously Paolo´s graduation. Yes, the eternal student has finally finished and we made sure he got a proper celebration. Isn´t he looking smart?? I obviously managed to totally embarass myself and fly down the stairs to the marquise, but hey….I promise: I wasn´t drunk at that stage!!!!

Champagne and Pimms and some strawberries and cream, it really couldn´t have been more English!!!! ;-) Oh yes, how could I forget the celebration cigar??? Not my cup of tea to be entirely honest, but it definitely contributed a rather funny picture :-)

Just one last picture…..the two proud graduates Paolo and Shane :-) They´re off tomorrow for a month-long trip around the world to Asia and new Zealand. I´m sure they´ll have a fantastic time, and I´m just a little…well….jealous?! No more holidays for me at least for the moment, perhaps Christmas? I´ll try to enjoy the summer as much as possible in the meantime. Bring on the Pimm´s!!!!! Catch you soon……

xx
